Some of these countries I chose to price escorted tours, because I think that Barrett and I would be more comfortable that way when language can be a real barrier, as well as it would keep us from missing great tourist sites. Some are also quite a bit longer (2 weeks instead of 1). For these, I used Gate 1 Travel, which gets 4.5/5 stars from customer ratings. Can I just say that I was surprised at the low price to go to China? I mean for 11 days and most meals? Very cool. And Thailand? For over 2 weeks!
Israel I priced on my own through Orbitz, and it's spendy!! Another option was an 11-day escorted tour with Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Dead Sea with some (but not all meals) for $6,600.
